Who we are

Parlance (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a product operated by the pace. We are based in Malta, European Union. Our registered address and contact details are available on request.

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the Parlance platform at parlance.business.

What data we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in via a third-party provider (Google, GitHub, etc.), we receive the profile information that provider makes available.

Project data

We store the data you create on the platform: contracts, glossary terms, audit results, design tokens, project settings, and team membership records.

Usage data

We may collect information about how you use the platform — which features you use, when you log in, and which integrations are connected. This data is anonymised before analysis.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your card details. Stripe handles all payment data and is subject to its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment status and subscription tier.

  • Contract performance — processing your data to provide the Parlance service you have agreed to use
  • Legitimate interests — improving the product through anonymised usage analysis, preventing abuse, and maintaining security
  • Consent — sending marketing communications where you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.

How we use your data

  • Providing the Parlance service and your account access
  • Sending transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts)
  • Improving the platform through anonymised usage analysis
  • Responding to support requests
  • Sending product updates and announcements (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data sharing

We share your data only with the following service providers, each subject to data processing agreements:

  • Supabase — database and authentication, hosted in the EU region
  • Vercel — platform hosting and edge delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing (card details never reach our servers)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery

We never sell personal data to third parties.

Data retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • After account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days
  • Project data (contracts, glossary, audit results) is deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Audit results are retained for 12 months during an active subscription
  • Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely
  • Financial records are retained for 7 years to comply with EU accounting requirements

Your rights (GDPR)

As a resident of the European Union or EEA, you have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@parlance.business. We will respond within 30 days.

International data transfers

Your data may be processed in the European Union and the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you via email of any material changes to this privacy policy. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
